We are a Native Iowa Winery located in Calhoun County Iowa just two & one half miles west of Lohrville Iowa on Highways 4 & 175. Our address is 2661 360th St. We were established in 2017 but we have been making wine for about 12 years prior to that. We are a craft winery making quality wines (including dry wines!) in very small batches from imported grape juice from all around the world so we are able to offer varietals not normally available to wineries in our northern climate. We also make an award-winning Mead (honey wine). We are now pleased to announce our newest wines: Living In Zin semi sweet blush Zinfandel, Jeffery Epstein Didn't Kill Himself a killer Malbec and our Nutmeg spiced Honey wine. Please stop in and give our wines a taste- you will be pleasantly surprised!
Jim & Sue Hirschberg
Because our winery is operated by just the two of us we'd appreciate a call to confirm that we'll be here if you're traveling a distance because sometimes we must be gone for deliveries and other commitments. We typically are open Mon- Saturday from 11AM until 6PM but that is, unfortunately, not written in stone. And if you have a group that would like to try our wines on days or hours we're not normally open please call for an appointment. We're easy to get along with! We also are available for Farmers Markets and other civic and private events so please call. 712-465-3400. Thanks for your understanding!
We are now a member host for Harvest Host! If you RV camp and like visiting wineries, breweries, distilleries, etc. you'll love Harvest Host where you can stay for free at 2400 businesses!
Below are our wine labels and descriptions of each of our 15 wines (so far). We hope you find them informative and humorous- and maybe you can relate to some of them!
ENJOY!
We have gift certificates available and have implemented an accumulative "Buy 10 Get 1 Free" promotion for sales in the tasting room, and if you buy any case you get 2 free bottles of your choice (even the most expensive ones)!
Are you looking for a more inexpensive way to enjoy our wine? Ask about our 5 gallon kegs for your home!
We have expanded our offerings to include antiques and wine paraphernalia.
We also have T-shirts for sale of two of our wines! Make a statement and wear one with pride.
Stop by and try our wines. Please tell your friends about us. Share our webpage on social media. If you'd like to see our wines in your local store please ask the manager to carry them.
You may call us at 712-465-3400 or email us here
Thank you for your interest and patronage!
BikerCouple --- Wow, Sweet Honeymoon Winery was a really excellent stop for us. The hosts, Jim and Sue Hirschberg, were exceptional hosts. Friendly, open, conversation specialists, with lots of interesting information about their winery and surrounding area. Located way out in the Iowa boonies just off the highway, access is easy and convenient, with good parking. The wines were very good, and varied. The labels were special and creative. We ended up purchasing a case of their wine (prices were very reasonable). We really enjoyed the winery, hosts, and other guests. A definite must stop if you are in the area. We highly recommend Sweet Honeymoon Winery.%

A_Year_to_Volunteer --=What an incredible experience. The reviews to date are on point. Sue and Jim are the real deal and their Irish Wolf Hound pups are so sweet and lovable. Here are our observations: - their wines are unlike any wineries in the midwest. They have a full range of dry and sweet wines and even a dessert wine. All are TOP quality. We tasted and tasted and bought half a case. We were amazed. We consider Sue and Jim friends and can't wait to come back! We can't recommend them enough
